Afrooz Kaviani Johnson is a Child Protection Specialist at UNICEF Headquarters in New York, leading the thematic area of protecting children in the digital environment. She manages global partnerships and programmes and policy and advocacy work and provides support to UNICEF regional and country teams to improve responses to technology-facilitated violence. Afrooz has over a decade of experience in managing child protection programmes around the world. Earlier in her career, Afrooz worked as a Senior Investigator and Conciliator for the Australian Human Rights Commission, and as a lawyer in private practice. She holds a Juris Doctor and Master of Social Science and is currently an external PhD candidate at Leiden Law School of Leiden University.
