Mr. Masanori Kondo, Secretary General of the APT, brings to his post over 30 years of eminent experience and expertise both on the national and international stage. Before being in the current position in 2021, he had served as Deputy Secretary General of the APT for 6 years.

Mr. Kondo had a long tenure with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), Japan since 1990. During his career in the Ministry, he was mainly in charge of international affairs in the field of ICT, including bilateral cooperation and negotiation as well as multilateral issues for G7, OECD, APEC, ITU etc. When he worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the late 90s, he was dispatched to the Japanese Embassy in Jordan.

Mr. Kondo holds B.A. in Economics from Keio University, Japan and MSc. in Economics from London School of Economics (LSE). He was also a visiting scholar at Harvard University (Weatherhead Center for International Affairs), USA.
