The Digital Emblem: Protecting Critical Infrastructure in Cyberspace
Between January 2023 and January 2024, critical infrastructure worldwide sustained over 420 million cyberattacks – equivalent to 13 attacks per second. These attacks targeted essential services, including energy grids, healthcare systems, and financial institutions. The ICRC’s Digital Emblem initiative aims to identify – and signal the protection of – critical digital infrastructure.
This session will bring together experts, policymakers, technologists, and global citizens to explore how the Digital Emblem initiative can be implemented and safeguarded. The session aims to educate the public on the Digital Emblem’s purpose and significance. It also aims to gather perspectives on its security and global adoption and encourage collaborative solutions for implementation.
