Prof.Asoc.Dr. Igli Tafa serves as the General Director of the National Cyber Security Authority of Albania (AKSK) and as the National Cyber Coordinator for Cybersecurity. With more than a decade of experience in cybersecurity and a strong academic background as an Associate Professor in Computer Science, he has been leading AKSK since October 2022 through a transformative period that has reshaped Albania’s digital economy in a safe and resilient manner.

Prof.Asoc.Dr. Tafa has successfully led a series of international and domestic projects that have significantly enhanced Albania’s cybersecurity resilience and modernized the digital infrastructure of the country’s Critical and Important Information Infrastructures. Under his leadership, Albania has advanced and adapted its legal framework, becoming one of the first countries in the region to embrace the latest European Union legislation on Cybersecurity and Trusted Services, positioning the country as a frontrunner in the Western Balkans.
